Today’s post is giving you a bit of an insight into what I’ve been getting up to in my hair and makeup styling classes at uni recently! Usually I hate mornings, especially Monday mornings! (Who doesn’t!?) But walking into my hair styling lesson and seeing an array of colour sprays, hair chalks, hair stencils and all sorts I knew it was going to be a good morning! We were given a demonstration on a few techniques we could use but was told to be creative and just basically go wild with it! Perfect! Of course I went straight for the colour sprays and hair stencils. The sprays we used were by Kryolan, they are literally called ‘Colour Spray’ and you can get these at any Charles Fox store and they come in lots of great colours. I would really recommend this product especially to style hair on a photo shoot and the colour washes out very easily. Here’s the link to the product: http://global.kryolan.com/product/color-spray#D21
Below is the final result of my experimentation using colours D21 (silver) fading into colour D23 (gold)
And of course I got my hair done too, blue ends! These sprays are just great for experimenting with colour on your hair aswell as for editorial photo shoots!
Firstly I just want to start by saying sorry I’ve been away from blogging for so long! University has been hectic and I haven’t had much time to write any posts. But now I’ve got to grips with the pace of things here, I’ll be blogging a lot more often again
So for my first post back I want to do something I haven’t done yet, a make-up review. As my uni course includes a whole unit on make-up I’ve become alot more interested in trying out different products and brands lately. So for Christmas I got a load of Benefit make-up as I had heard good reviews on the products and wanted to try them out for myself.
So I’ll start with my favourite product High Beam. A make-up technique I have been quite interested in lately is highlighting and contouring, it’s amazing what a couple of sweeps of the right product can do to change/enhance the shape of your face! I’ve been looking for the perfect highlighter as early starts and late nights have started to take their toll on my skin! So I tried out Benefit’s High Beam and I must say I’m super impressed with the results!
To apply the product:
*Dab dots of the highlighter with the applicator along the top of the cheekbones going up to the temples diagonally, under the arch of your brows, in the corners of your eyes and anywhere else you feel needs to be highlighted.
*Now take a small blending brush or you can use your finger and blend out the highlighter using small circular motions following the dotted lines. And your done! It’s as simple as that!
What I love about this product:
* Lovely pearlescent colour
*Gives your skin a beautiful dewy glow, perfect for everyday use or a high end look
*A little goes a very long way!
What I don’t like so much:
*Slightly on the pricey side at £19.50
* If you’re wearing blusher/bronzer it tends to wipe it away
*Too much of the product comes out on the applicator brush when you take it out the bottle
Overall I would definitely recommend this product, it’s been a lifesaver for me over the past couple of months during the party season and although there are a few cons, the pros definitely outweigh them! I will be buying this product again as it’s my favourite highlighter I’ve found to date,=.
I give Benefit High Beam a rating of: 4.5/5
I’d love to know what highlighters you use/would recommend as I’m always up for giving new products a go, please take a few seconds to answer the poll below and the one with the most votes I’ll give a try!
Amber Riley was one of the original cast members on ‘Glee’, and is now revealing how emotional it was to film the tribute for Cory Monteith, and how it gave the cast the opportunity to say a final goodbye to both Cory and Finn Hudson.
So as you all probably know by know I LOVE Summer! And I’m really quite down that it’s coming to an end! Result of this; unhappy Georgia and having to fork out money for Winter clothes as to be honest my Autumn/Winter wardrobe is pretty much non-existent! But what might possibly be one of the few last times I get to do a Summer post, I give you ‘The Summer jersey dress.’
Every girl has that ‘Jersey dress’ whether it’s a simple plain skater style or a slightly more colourful summer one like mine! This lovely Summer jersey dress is from Republic in the sale at a bargain £7.00! I purchased this dress a few weeks back for my holiday in Kavos and it was perfect. It’s so light and I love the twist drop back! It’s a perfect throw on summer dress! I styled my dress with simple aviator sunglasses, a white bandeau and a quick messy bun, for the perfect chilled summer look. Let me know what you think!
So the weekend that has just passed myself, my family and my boyfriend went away to Hopton/Great Yarmouth. I had a great time and went to some really cool places. One of the places we visited was the Great Yarmouth market where I bought a bargain dress for just £5.00! I’ve been looking for outfits for my freshers week when I move to university later this month and so far I haven’t really had much luck taking my limited funds into consideration. But this dress was perfect!
This dress can easily be worn as a casual day or night dress. I love the dungaree style back and faded flower print. I added a black bandeau (New Look) underneath the dress and white jelly pumps (River Island.) I kept the accessories simple with a cool glitzy ear piece (Miss Selfridge) and finally curled the bottom half of my hair and roughly clipped the top half up for a cool, effortless look for a night out in Hopton with the family!
Firstly I would like to introduce you all to my aunties new online boutique; ‘Vintage Lee’s.’ As the name suggests she sells real vintage and also clothing with a vintage look. This includes clothing, bags for prices you won’t find elsewhere. And even some of the newer pieces that have a vintage look to them come new with tags and are unworn. I myself have already purchased two items from Vintage Lee’s, a gorgeous dark brown vintage handbag and a pair of very unique vintage look shorts from River Island, new with tags. I teamed my vintage look flower shorts with a lilac cropped bustier top and the dark brown handbag for a cool, muted vintage look a perfect day to night look.
As I’m a vintage loving girl I love Vintage Lee’s boutique! Especially as a student it’s hard to find some vintage pieces at cheap prices. So please check out my aunties new boutique the link to the Facebook shop is: www.facebook.com/VintageLees
I would really appreciate if you could reblog/share this post and/or the link to the site. Any questions such as price inquiries etc please feel free to message or post on the shop page and let me now if you purchase anything from there!
I posted this post on my previous blog a few days ago, which is now inactive but I would like to share it on here, so here it is…
So the sun was out on Tuesday! Not as warm as I would of liked it to be, but sun is still good! And summer is definitely my favourite season! I love summer fashion! It can be so versatile. And although I love my pretty summer dresses and skirts, Tuesday was a chilled day hanging out with friends, so I went for a look that I don’t usually go for, a more casual summer look, but still incorporating lots of bright colours and flowers of course I teamed my jersey shorts and crop top with a denim jacket and the flower headband as I think it tied the outfit together nicely
Denim jacket- Primark
Crop top- Present
Flower headband- Primark
Jersey acid wash shorts- H&M
I am so glad I got given a pair of white converse because they are sooo comfy and I’m not a plimsoll/trainer kind of girl but I have been converted to Converse! They go with pretty much anything and they are now my go-to shoes! Love them!
Let us know what you think and thanks for taking a look guys
