In England we don’t usually see much of a Summer, cries of Brits longing for some Sunshine can be heard ringing throughout the country. Until it actually happens that is…typical British humour! But if you’re… More
For as long as I can remember my hair has been limp and dry, even before I started dying my hair it was like straw. Just pulled the short straw I guess – as both of my sisters have long beautiful hair! So whilst on set of a photo shoot recently I let the hair stylist have a chop at my hair and it gave me a new lease of life and some much needed volume! It certainly worked, 1 out of 2 problems solved! Now I just needed my hair to stop being so dry and dull then I’d have the hair I always wanted!
It was recommended to me that I splash a little bit of extra cash on my shampoo and conditioners and I would really notice the difference. As some cheaper conditioners can coat the hair strands weighing them down too much causing the ends to break off. That was the best hair advice I ever received…I set off to Lush cosmetics as I’m a firm lover and believer in their natural and cruelty free products. I asked for conditioner recommendations for extra dry hair. She showed me a few but I was sold on American cream, it sounded exactly like what I needed;
4 out of 5 stars rated
Although the bottle describes American Cream as having the scent of marshmallows I’m not quite sure I agree…nether the less it still smells amazing! And the smell has stayed in my hair a whole day after I washed it. Which is something I find usually fades within a few hours of using most other conditioners. My hair is now super smooth and shiny after just a few uses of American Cream and friends have said they’ve notices a difference in the thickness of my hair. It’s safe to say I am obsesseddd! Investing a little more cash into your conditioner really can make all the difference. Everyone’s hair type is different and you need to find the one that works best for your hair, so make sure to get samples where possible before investing. To make it a bit easier for you I’ve compiled a list of a couple more Lush shampoo and conditioners that have great reviews. Click on the links to find out more!
BIG – £6.75 -4 out of 5 stars – https://uk.lush.com/products/big
ROOTS – £10.75 -5 out of 5 stars – https://uk.lush.com/products/roots
I haven’t tried out ‘BIG’ and ‘ROOTS’ personally but from online reviews I have heard they’re hair saviours, definitely worth a try! My lush advisor was super generous and gave me loads of free samples of different shampoos so I’ll also be reviewing those on my blog once I get a chance to try them out! Until then have a browse on Lush’s website and get thinking to switching to a more natural way to indulge your hair. I would love to hear some of your suggestions on what other hair care products you think I should use, leave a comment inn the section below!
As promised I will be delivering daily segments on the films I am most buzzed about that have premiered at Cannes Film Festival 2016! Something a little different from the usual on my blog
The definition of cafe society is a society of persons who are regular patrons of fashionable cafes. Directed by the uber talent Woody Allen and starring Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart and Steve Carell. The opening film for Cannes Film Festival is set in New York in the 1930’s following the life of Bobby Dorfman as he moves to Hollywood in search of a better career and lifestyle and winds up finding it both with the gorgeous Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart. Cafe Society takes you back to a time some bars and clubs in Manhattan truly were very exclusive. It’s had great reviews so far claiming it is a ‘charming and intelligent’ movie and ghas gained a 7.1/10 rating on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4513674/ .) It set for release on the 15th July in the US, no UK date has been given yet. So keep an eye out for that if you’re interested!
And as a celebration of Cafe Society’s debut at Cannes I have compiled a small list of 1930’s inspired pieces that you get your hands on..
Scroll over the images to see were you can grab these exclusive pieces up from!

The past three days have seen in the start of one of the most important events in the entertainment calender; the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival. Now there will be a lot of blog posts about what celebs were wearing what; I will of course be commenting on that in this post as well as a beauty segment! And for you film lovers as a film fanatic myself I will be be separately posting on the hottest new films premièring over the festival period, so keep an eye out! Now as the festival goes on for a whopping 12 days I will be posting as it unfolds. But for now here’s the looks that have kicked off Cannes…
In an array of stunningly dressed celebs I have to applaud the stunning Blake Lively; with her baby bump quaintly showing she was a vision in a sparkly Atelier Versace number.
Following suit of Blake Lively, Bella Hadid looked polished and pristine as ever in her floor length beaded Roberto Cavalli gown.
Lily Donaldson vamps it up with a stunning Brandon Maxwell plunging neckline, choker and burgundy lip.
And pink seems to be the shade of the day! Queen of Cannes Film Festival Araya A. Hargate wows with her Ralph and Russo princess gown.
Tousled waves alongside minimal make up and chic updo’s paired with a statement lip seem to be the port of call when it comes to Cannes day 1. Here are my favourite four looks…
What were your favourite looks of day 1? Comment below!
Hi beautiful people! It may seem a bit late to be posting about Beyonce’s Ivy Park launch in collaboration with Topshop, as it launched a few days ago. But the past few days have been crazy hectic for me personally I’ve had a lot going on. But I still wanted to post about it anyway as Bey is bae!
For all you Beyonce lovers out there (which is mostly everyone, lets be real) you’ve probably been eagerly awaiting the day that Beyonce’s Ivy Park line launched at Topshop stores worldwide. Largely influenced by the huge gym/sportswear trend the collection is practical and sassy! The collection certainly has got me motivated to use that unloved gym membership of mine! All items are available in sizes xxs-xl. Check out the promo video for the collection via the link below!
Of course I was straight in Topshop on launch day and although I was slightly disappointed with the availability of items in store, there is plenty more choice online! Stockists of Ivy Park include:
I picked up the Ivy Park logo baseball cap on launch day, I’ve been wanting a cap for a while so this just seemed like the perfect excuse to get one! And for your viewing pleasure I have compiled a few of my favourite pieces from the collection!
What do you think about the collection!? Let me know in the comments section below!
Hey guys! So after running my blog part time since its start a couple of years back I have decided to get into it full time. I’ve decided this as my degree is coming to an end and its a great platform for me to showcase my skills and act as a portfolio for me. And its also great to get to show you all behind the scenes of what I’m getting up to! So to kick off the start of my full-time blogging is the launch of my blogs new logos!
So, the first logo will be used on my blog and the second one will be used for business purposes, such as business cards, cv etc. As I’m super busy with uni work and everything in between the awesome Abbi Adeniyi created the logos for me, so big thank-you to her!
As you can see her work is awesome and she was super quick and friendly, so if you have any business enquiries about some graphics you may need creating for yourself, please feel free to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Check back on Custom Made Character later on tonight for another post on my family day trip to London yesterday! And I’d love to know in the comments section what sort of posts you’d like to see on my blog and/or any specific requests!
