V FEST 16′ Plus Big Blog Announcement!

V Festival 2016 was pretty crazy…My first time camping at a festival so I was pretty nervous! It wasn’t smooth sailing I’ll be honest! But it was one hell of a weekend! My main reasoning for buying the ticket was Justin Bieber (queue boo’s) Sia and Rihanna performing. Firstly I will just personally shut down the rumour Biebs was miming, I don’t want to be controversial or anything…Yes he did have a backing track (like most artists I saw that day did) and yes he did talk a fair bit, but I feel like he was really trying to connect with the audience and that makes a nice change from some artists who just perform then walk of the stage. I’ve seen him in concert quite a few times and he usually has a backing track as he dances quite a bit, so any awkward silence’s are avoided, also he did sing over the backing track and performed two acoustic accapella songs! It was just a shame that a few people had to ruin it for the people that were there to actually watch his performance.

Aside from my Bieber rant (SORRY) see what I did there? 😉 I had the most amazing time and myself and my friends were lucky enough to have the most awesome camping neighbours who we spent most of our weekend with. We managed to see alot of acts over the weekend;

Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Sia, Stormzy, Foxes, Bastille, All Saints, Bebe Rexha, Little Mix, David Guetta, among a few…I always think festivals are really worth the money as to pay to see all of the acts you end up seeing individually would be incomprehensible. And I met my favourite beauty instagammer, the amazing Sophie Richardson! @sophiehannahrichardson (Queue fan girling.) I’ve just compiled a a few photos from the weekend below, followed by my blog’s big announcement! 😀

As can be seen above, I was but a shadow of my formal self by the end of the weekend! (My mum took this picture when collecting me on Monday…)

SO, my blog’s big announcement…As of Thursday 1st September I am very excited to announce I will start VLOGGING. I am in the process of creating my Youtube channel in connection with my blog Custom Made Character and I will be posting once a week on lifestyle, beauty and fashion topics. I would really appreciate support from as many of you as possible in my new venture and don’t worry I will still be posting on my blog at least twice a week! I will be posting more information on my Facebook page over the next few days so please follow me on there to find out more! 🙂

Peace & Love as always xo

Destination Cannes 2016

The past three days have seen in the start of one of the most important events in the entertainment calender; the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival. Now there will be a lot of blog posts about what celebs were wearing what; I will of course be commenting on that in this post as well as a beauty segment! And for you film lovers as a film fanatic myself I will be be separately posting on the hottest new films premièring over the festival period, so keep an eye out! Now as the festival goes on for a whopping 12 days I will be posting as it unfolds. But for now here’s the looks that have kicked off Cannes…

In an array of stunningly dressed celebs I have to applaud the stunning Blake Lively; with her baby bump quaintly showing she was a vision in a sparkly Atelier Versace number.

Following suit of Blake Lively, Bella Hadid looked polished and pristine as ever in her floor length beaded Roberto Cavalli gown.

Lily Donaldson vamps it up with a stunning Brandon Maxwell plunging neckline, choker and burgundy lip.

And pink seems to be the shade of the day! Queen of Cannes Film Festival Araya A. Hargate wows with her Ralph and Russo princess gown.

Tousled waves alongside minimal make up and chic updo’s paired with a statement lip seem to be the port of call when it comes to Cannes day 1. Here are my favourite four looks…

November Favourites!

Hello lovelies!

So today’s post is going to be something new for me which I will continue to do a post on each month, my November favourites! I’ve seen so many bloggers do a monthly vlog or blog feature on this and I always really enjoy reading and watching them, so I thought I’d start doing my own. Now for those of you who haven’t read any monthly favourite posts basically its about your favourite products, films, books etc. that you’ve been loving that month.

Sooo my November favourites are…

1. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula- I bought this serum a couple of months ago but only really started using it regularly this month and I am so impressed! I bought this formula as my hair rarely has a real natural shine to it as its really dry. So I half heartedly picked this 25 ml bottle up as part of a 3 for 2 deal and I’m glad I did as its a great product. After washing your hair, push the pump once to dispense the serum into your hand and sparingly brush it through your wet hair with your hands and style as normal. Once I had dried and styled my hair the serum had left my hair soft and with a natural looking shine. RRP £3.99 currently £1.97 on http://www.superdrug.com

2.  Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub- This isn’t a new product I’ve just started using, I’ve actually been using it for a while. But I’m especially loving this wonder product this November month, as the weather turns cold and it takes a toll on your lips this scrub is perfect to exfoliate your lips and get rid of any dead skin, leaving a smooth base to apply your favourite lipstick. (Plus the bubble gum flavour tastes lush, yes, its edible too!) Definitly a must for the  Winter months! £5.50 from Lush

3. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser- Say hello to baby smooth skin! Maybelline’s Instant Pore Eraser is does exactly as it says. It doesn’t have only one but two uses, a primer and pore eraser. I don’t have really visible pores so I bought this product to use as more of a primer, because sometimes my foundation tends to sink in to my skin, so I apply this before putting on my foundation and it almost creates a barrier between your skin and your makeup. It also blurs out imperfections to a certain extent. I will definitely be buying this product again. £7.99 from Boots

4. MAC Pigment in Blue/Black- This is my first MAC pigment I have bought and I’m planning to build up a big collection because I love it! It looks as though I haven’t even used it yet as you only need the tiniest bit on your brush as the colour is very dense. The colour is absolutely beautiful a shimmer of blues, purples and browns. You can mix it with different products to make the pigment more versatile, for example using it as an eyeliner once mixed with liquid makeup. The only thing is there is quite a lot of fall down  when applying, however you can easily catch this by holding a tissue under the area you are applying it to . £17.00 from MAC Cosmetics

So there’s my first favourites post! I hope you liked it and please let me know in the comments section what products you’re loving this month! Sharing is caring!

IMATS 2014

Today’s post is a bit different to any of my previous posts, I’ve got a little insight into IMATS 2014 (I know it was a few days ago, sorry but I’ve been real busy the past few days!) For those of you who don’t know what IMATS is it stands for International Makeup Artist Trade Show and it’s amazing. It’s a two day event at Olympia National, London. Throughout the day there are makeup presentations on stage from various creatives in the industry, alongside tons of stalls full to the brim with products and services such as makeovers.

So this year i was again lucky enough to assist designer and stylist Joey Bevan at IMATS for the Charles Fox Presentation. So here’s my behind the scenes look at this years show for you guys,  Enjoy!

Benefit High Beam Review

Firstly I just want to start by saying sorry I’ve been away from blogging for so long! University has been hectic and I haven’t had much time to write any posts. But now I’ve got to grips with the pace of things here, I’ll be blogging a lot more often again 🙂

So for my first post back I want to do something I haven’t done yet, a make-up review. As my uni course includes a whole unit on make-up I’ve become alot more interested in trying out different products and brands lately. So for Christmas I got a load of Benefit make-up as I had heard good reviews on the products and wanted to try them out for myself.

So I’ll start with my favourite product High Beam. A make-up technique I have been quite interested in lately is highlighting and contouring, it’s amazing what a couple of sweeps of the right product can do to change/enhance the shape of your face! I’ve been looking for the perfect highlighter as early starts and late nights have started to take their toll on my skin! So I tried out Benefit’s High Beam and I must say I’m super impressed with the results!

high beam

To apply the product:

*Dab dots of the highlighter with the applicator along the top of the cheekbones going up to the temples diagonally, under the arch of your brows, in the corners of your eyes and anywhere else you feel needs to be highlighted.

*Now take a small blending brush or you can use your finger and blend out the highlighter using small circular motions following the dotted lines. And your done! It’s as simple as that!

What I love about this product:

*Blends easily

*Good pigmentation

* Lovely pearlescent colour

*Gives your skin a beautiful dewy glow, perfect for everyday use or a high end look

*A little goes a very long way!

What I don’t like so much:

*Slightly on the pricey side at £19.50

* If you’re wearing blusher/bronzer it tends to wipe it away

*Too much of the product comes out on the applicator brush when you take it out the bottle

Overall I would definitely recommend this product, it’s been a lifesaver for me over the past couple of months during the party season and although there are a few cons, the pros definitely outweigh them! I will be buying this product again as it’s my favourite highlighter I’ve found to date,=.

I give Benefit High Beam a rating of:  4.5/5

I’d love to know what highlighters you use/would recommend as I’m always up for giving new products a go, please take a few seconds to answer the poll below and the one with the most votes I’ll give a try! 🙂

Peace and love

Georgia-Rose 🙂
